A pair of Italian carved wood wall brackets

A unique and well carved pair of Italian wood wall brackets. Each example represents winged infant mermaids before coquille and garlands. Each mermaid has raised hands supporting a shell top with undulating rims. Mid 19th century. 19-1/2″ high, 16-1/2″ wide, 11-1/2″ deep.
